tid-bits about new hauls, upcoming meet-ups

I've been a bit busy with watching Greek lately so i haven't really been able to post a new entry lately, okay..so now that i'm home..i can give you guys a quick review of my new wolverines..but before we get to that, i'll finally get my 25th anniversary Wolverine HML! it'll come with the ML Legendary Riders Logan Variant which is good since at least i'll get something else i like instead of Emma Frost. we'll go meet-up on sunday which is also the birthday of my new friend and the moderator of the group buy. Can't wait for it, i won't get the LOC MS DoFP Wolverine anymore though..i know it's kind of rare but i was intent on keeping it MOC so i'll just look for a MOC one some other time. Plus, i don't have anymore money..haha. Okay, so i'm going to share my thoughts on my gf's birthday/christmas gifts for me..unfortunately i won't be able to take them home until december..they'll stay in her condominium for now..1. Bowen 25th anniversary Wolverine First Appearance - 3/5 ehh, it's solid but it looks too plain for me, the claws are real nice but the pose is to plain..would have been better if it had been done in a dynamic pose. But i guess if you put this one beside the others produced by Bowen, it would look real good.kinda like the other two. Unlike others, i appreciate this bust since it's done in Wolverine's first ever costume. Would also have been better if the company produced a CoA.

2. DST Astonishing Wolverine - 4.5/5 my favorite of the three! i like the way he's posing, i love the details and the sculpt! it's a perfect combination of realism and having that comic look, plus points since it's the same scale as the other Astonishing X-Men busts, i also like how the base has the claw marks..it makes it more wolverine and less generic. my only real problem with the base is that it's too small, other reviews said that they tend to fall so i better watch out..i'll probably put the sticky stuff underneath this one.

3. DST Civil War Wolverine - 4/5 best base out of the three, it says civil war..not much but if you see the explotion behind you'll see how awesome it is. Being comic accurate doesn't help for me since i didn't like the too cartoon-y approach of the artist. Other than that, i think it's great..the only problem is that i think i better be careful of the base since it might break if i'm not careful. and just like the other two, this one can be displayed beside the other civil war busts.

Having these stats got me thinking if i could get into them too, at least the mini ones that are around 6" tall, i can shell out P2k-3k every once in a while i guess, but the real bust i want to have is the Kotobukiya Wolverine bust, the X-Force one..that looks so good. I really really want to have that one. They say that it costs around P7k+ here and orders outside the Philippines cost P4k+ without the shipping which might go up to P2k..hopefully, i'll be able to get one someday..as of now, i asked a friend from PTK in Singapore if there's still that bust somewhere there, hopefully there is and i can get it from him.:D if it costs around P6k overall i can live with that..i guess..I'll just focus all my money on that for a while. I promise, if he's able to get me that one, i'll stop buying toys for a while and save up for that.

Other than those three, my only other haul for the week is the 13" X2 Wolverine Rotocast, i guess overall it's good and now i only need the unmasked Wolverine Rotocast (not the ML Icons), my only problem with this fig is that it does not have knee articulation so the knees are forever bent. So i can't pose him standing straight but instead he needs to always be in an action pose like the one in the picture..the fig was very dusty when i got it, and the owner was really lying about him having the other two rotocasts, i mean..the sample pic he showed were MOC that was covered with plastic..this one was loose and not taken care of. To solve the dust problem, i just dipped him in water for a few seconds..and shit, i think i might have forgot to throw the water..and my brother took a bath already..haha. A good problem i have with this figure is that it's actually taller than my display space, so i had to bend him down so he'd be able to fit..he's way bigger than my Masked Wolverine Rotocast. I was able to see an unmasked rotocast last saturday but the problem was it costs around P1200, i don't really want to spend that much money on a loose figure..and that it would set me back big time.

X-Force: Sex and Violence Preview/collection update

Just saw the image previews of the X-Force: Sex and Violence mini-series, here they are..

I just love the artwork in this one, Del Otto's doing it right? great great art..i envy the guy's talent..anyway, it's just images so i don't know what's happening yet..i'm guessing domino just came back from somewhere looking like that and elixir sees him, elixir walks up to her and asks her what happened and that if she needed any help..i guess she admits that she needs the help though she can't say anything to elixir..while elixir was healing her, wolverine walks up to them and stops elixir, tells him to get out and he confronts dom..we'll see in a couple of weeks if i'm correct since this thing is about to be released soon..hopefully this mini-series lives up to the hype or at least has the same quality as the current X-Force book..just a few questions though:
1. Why are there bullet wounds on Domino's back?
2. Does this take place before or after Necrosha? Since as of now, Elixir is out cold
3. Does X-Force have a secret hide-out thing? cause the mirror there looks like it's out of place in any x-men joint..
4. Will the other members also make an appearance?

my guess is that Dom's outfit is bullet proof and those are just wounds, it happens before, and they do have a hide-out..oh, and that others are going to make cameos..

I'm also going to Greenhills tomorrow, i'm finally going to get my X-23 variant figure and i'm going to meet-up with someone to buy the SW Wolverine/Human Torch 2-pack for P700 ($14) so that's around P199 lower than SRP. But i will try to sell the Human Torch figure for around P350 (figure along) or P400 (with case and comics) he's also going to sell me a SHS X-Force Wolverine for P100 ($2) not bad..so that'll bring it to P800. Initial thoughts about this figure is that it's sculpt is better than the brown wolverine from the XMO line (more on that later) and that it's an almost complete repaint of the X-Force Wolverine other than the hand that was supposed to hold the sword, it was replaced by a closed fist. But still, i think it's good..I think i bought quite a lot of Wolverine related shit for the past week or so..i was also supposed to get the X2 movie Wolverine rotocast unfortunately the seller will be out of town tomorrow, maybe i'll just get it together with the items from the new Wolverine groupbuy (just 4 items left: loose select ult. wolverine and dofp wolverine, XMC HoM wolverine and stealth wolverine) i already have the two XMCs and i plan to get MOC Selects if ever i do buy them..hopefully the deal would by done by next week or the week after that..tomorrow or the next day..i'm also thinking about buying the wolverines from the XMO line too, at least the 3.75"ones..this wasd because i saw an ebay posting of 6 XMO figures for just P2k..and the seller was willing to sell the 4 wolverines for just P1300. i just realized that i shouldn't since they'll probably release similar ones on the MU line someday, so i'll just try to wait for those..and that i shouldn't go spending left and right..i'll stick to the list i made, other than adding the 12" rotocast wolverine..i can't wait to be able to save money again..right now, the expenses i have lined up are the following:

The Goog, The Bad, The ugly.

THE UGLY:
Walked out of my team earlier today, just left after the game without shaking hands with the other team too...i think i did have the right to get pissed off..why? we lost by more than 30..the other team was the defending champs for a reason but i don't think the talent disparity was that huge..it was more of team issues..i'm not saying i didn't have a bad game but it would've been better..our team had absolutely zero ball rotation, no defensive rotation, no communication..i chipped in a lousy 5 points, i could have gotten thrice that easily had the team made the right passes..i was open both inside and outside most of the time..i would've been happy with 5 had we won, but man..am i in a team of stat chasers? damn..i mean, other than scoring my game was alright..everyone should know that when 3 guys are defernding you, you pass it out since that means 2 guys are free..and these guys are my friends too, hopefully we bounce back the next game..i'm not there for stats..i'm after Ws..

Good and Bad:
Anyway, i guess CollectIcon was nice..wasn't really able to get anything from there but a regular FO Wolverine, the first appearance one..i bought it from the guy at ebay, he had a stall there and he was finally willing to let it go for P50 less..i'll show the review later. I decided on getting the loose one instead of spending P700 on the MOC one with Sabretooth, didn't really like it that much i guess..so i just bought the loose one..hmm, I saw this stall selling Wolverine #1 and #2 for P1050 each..it was in good condition and i would've bought it if i had the money..also saw a few that caught my eye..the first one i really wanted to buy was an X-Men Evolution Wolverine, problem was..one guy was able to see it first and he bought it! Damn. haha. I was hoping he'd let it go..i also saw the XMC Tigerstripe there, didn't buy it since it was screaming OVERRUN! i mean, there were around 4 of them in one bin being sold for P130 but all had different colored legs or arms or whatever..it went for P130 but still, don't want overruns..i was also able to give my payment for the X-23 variant, i was also able to meet the seller of the Archangel..i also was able to get the Domino..i got all three figs for just P750, pretty nice i guess..i also saw quite a lot of loose ML Black Wolverines for P500-P600, real happy i already have one..i also have the strike team Wolverine and the 3 essentials, real bargain if you ask me..got the Domino from the saem guy, he also brought my Strike Team and my Aoa Regular..i also was able to get the Ninja Strike from the trade..the guy's a cheat..a small part was broken and he didn't mind telling me, very unnoticable but still..some joints also had glue/mighty bond on it..NOT NICE. good thing i was able to get it off, still loved the fig though..but when i left, a friend told me he saw a MOC one for P600..wich was hidden, should really try to dig deeper next time..and oh, the regualr AoA Wolverine i got was LOC..as in only the BAF part was taken out..twisties were still included..so there, i guess i'll give you the rundown of the stuff i got...ooh, and as for X-23, i gave the payment already but i'll get the figure next time i see the guy..

oh, and i aslo got my price from Bim (http://comicology.i.ph), it's an animation cell from the old Spider-Man animated series..so there, that's my haul from CollectIcon, i guess i'll be slowing down now..but i already reserved the P900 Emma Frost and Wolverine TRU exclusives, i'll just use the Emma Frost as trade bait, i might actually be able to trade it for the MU SW Wolverine and another loose 3.75"figure..guy already said yes if ever his cousin has the MU SW Wolverine..so yeah, i'd do that trade even if on paper i'd be on the losing end, but hey..i only need the Wolverien figure and the gb is slowly looking like it won't work out..

can't wait to display this things when get home, i do need a bigger space though..but i already have a solution..oh, and i finally have enemies for my MU X-Force, 1995 Terminator Endoskelitions..those things are so cheap, i'll try to ge more of them in the future..hopefully no one buys those so i'll be able to get all from our mall..i already bought 11 but lost a gun..haha.
oh, you wanna know how cheap it is? well, one MOC MU would be the equivalent of 18 endoskeletons! not bad! especially since this is all i'll ever do with them, but don't get me wrong..i'll still buy a monster fig..

Three more sleeps before the 10th of October, that means i'll be going to my first ever toy thing this weekend. though i'll be going there to look for some bargain Wolverine figure that don't cost more than P600 and cheap Iron Mongers that don't cost more than P300, but i might not even need to buy an Iron Monger anymore (more on that later). And the Wolverines i'll be looking for on saturday would primarily be in the 6" scale, the MU SW Wolverine, and anything that really catches my eye that looks good but wouldn't force me to start a new line. I'm still not sure if i go through with the Marvel Select line..i think it's too expensive. i'll already take home quite a handful of figures even if i don't find anything there..as i mentioned for the past few blogs i'll be getting 3 Wolverine Essentials, AoA Regular Wolverine, and Wolverine Strike Team (all paid for) as well as an XMC Archangel. Yes, buying an Archangel in this scale does mean that I will now collect the new X-Force in the 6" line too. I also might be able to get Domino but it'll only happen if the buyer wouldn't get it by Friday. And i'll also be paying for an X-23 but i won't be able to get it on saturday, since the meet-up will be on Sunday in GH but i won't be able to go there on that day. Oh, and i'm also going to get this Spider-Man animation card from the Comicology guy (http://comicology.i.ph) since i "won" in this contest, haha. might keep the card, might use it for trade bait, who knows? So there, i'm already booked to pay P550-P750 even without going there. And i'll be getting quite a few items too..I'll try to ask for an advance in my allowance so i can have more money to spend there though..oh, and my girlfriend will go with me which will be nice.:D the only problem with the X-Force is that they won't be wearing their team colors. So i either have to do a repaint or ask someone to do it. and asking someone to do it costs a lot..And the Warpath will be released next year so i guess i'll be able to complete it. Deadpool too. And yes, i'm assuming Deadpool will be a permanent member. I'm also getting a little late with my comics because of all the action figures i've been getting..i still haven't bought the latest Wolverine Origins issue and i think all the other books (X-Force, Dark Wolverine, Wolverine Weapon X) will be dropping this week. So I've made up my mind that i'll take it slow, i have to pay my sun bill, save money for my girlfirend, and save money for comics. Anyway, the lacking only a few 6" Wolverines and as of now, only one MU Wolverine. So i guess i'll be able to recover after that..and my birthday's only 2 months away..haha. i'll have more money by that time..remember the list i showed you of all the 6" Wolverines i want to get? Yeah, there's only three remaining..i'm still waiting for a fairly priced Wolverine Face-off (i think P300 is good), there's one listed right now but the seller wants the set to be sold. And an ebay seller is selling it for P350..but it's been listed for a long time so i guess i still don't need to rush. The 25th Anniversary Wolverine is something i want to get asap..i guess it'll be the #1 thing i'll be looking for on CollectIcon..any MOC of it being sold for less than P500, i'm going to get it. I won't mind getting two if the Group Buy pans out. I might even get one for P900, but it comes wit an Emma Frost Variant, but i'm trying to at least get a s1 Green Hulk to replace the Emma so that i'll get a monster fig at the same time..if ever he agress, i'll go do the deal with him..P900 for Silver Wolverine and Green Hulk, not bad i guess. Oh, and there's been a new problem with the trade..the guy i'm going to trade with is going to CollectIcon at around 2pm but i won't be there anymore at 2pm! i have a game..so i asked him to either come early, wait for me until 5pm or meet up at a different venue tomorrow. Hopefully he's able to come early on CollectIcon. I'm trading my 1997 Super Slammers Undertaker with his XMC Ninja Strike Wolverine. Straight up trade, i really hope it works out. don't think that it's an unfair trade for him, you know that figs rarely look like the ones they show during promos. AND Undertaker's a retro one, 12 years of existence already! I'm even planning to bring along my 1991 Ultimate Warrior if we're able to meet-up so i could sell it to him for half the price and if he's a good guy i might actually just give it to him..why? since that'll definately be the last wrestler toy i have and he'd look very out of place already, so i'll just dispose of him. Plus, i really want to get that Ninja Strike Wolverine, if i had the money i'd actually buy a MOC one if i found one. The only possible seller that has a MOC one isn't even sure he has it in his store, he just told me he thinks he has one and hasn't even replied yet..i hope he has one, maybe i can get it for P550. I mean..look at that, that is just awesome, i want to have one like that. Than one, the Silver Wolverine, and my custom X-Force Wolverine would be the pride of my little Wolverine collection. Yeah, i know some guys have Hot Toys, statues, and busts, but i don't have the funds to have those things..YET. So i'm focusing on the line that i can actually afford and i do think i'm doing well in it. So guys, i'm hoping that i'll be able to get the Silver Wolverine and Green Hulk for P900, that the trade for XMC Ninja Strike Wolverine happens and that i would be able to find bargain Wolverine figures on saturday...yeah, hopefully it will..i'm hoping it will..hahaha. Come on!

okay, so God was blessed us with a fairly good weather yesterday..no heavy rains or typhoons in the metro..that meant i was good to go. I woke up pretty early though i slept late since i was afraid that if i fell asleep..it would rain real hard..good thing it didn't...i was able to go to GH w/o my dad knowing and my mom thinking i'll only go to SM Bicutan (around 8x nearer our house), my father found out only when i got home..wasn't mad since mom knew...anyway, when i got there..i was able to meet most Wolverine collectors on PTK. One guy wasn't there due to more important things...condolence once again bro. He asked me to hold on to his figs first, he got the masked astonishing, CMF, unmasked astonishing SHS and Logan SHS, i'll just go give him the figs on CollectIcon, i'll get the things i bought from him too (ML Strike team, AoA Regular, 3 essentials). Anyway, these guys are real nice, i've already met one of them before since i bought 2 wolverines from him already (Ultimate and Weapon X). After the group buy, only 5 items were left. 2 vintage wolverines (from mid 1990s) 2 Funkko (?) bobble heads (Brown and tigerstripe) and HML Black Wolverine..yes, the one i'm looking for..the guy selling it was quitting toy collecting already and he wanted to let everything go already..and pretty much everyone knew it was in my hit list. So they persuaded me into buying it. I told them i'm looking for a looose one...and then the guy said he'd sell it to me as if it was loose..i was tempted so much but the price he gave was the exact amount i had left..meaning, no more cellphone repair and no commute money. Called my mom and asked her to give me an advance so i can buy something i wanted, she obliged. But being the thinking man that i am..i was still able to ask for P50 ($1) off..he finally agreed so he gave it to me for a VERY LOW P450 ($9)! most loose figs aren't even sold that low!it goes for around P800 ($16) on ebay for a loose figure..and the lowest MOC is around P900 ($18)...but that wasn't the end of my lucky day in collecting. The seller gave the two vintage Wolverines to the head of the group buy as a sign of thanks..so after that, i went to the cellphone repair section where i looked for the lowest possible price for my phone's repair (ended up having it repaired for P250) while searching, the head of the GB texted me and even called me asking if i was still in GH. I thought i picked up a wrong fig, turns out..he asked if i wanted to get the vintage wolverines..of course i did! haha. so i ended up meeting with him in McDo, hung out for a while..got a shirt for my girlfriend..got my phone fixed and went home. All in all i took home 5 new figs for myself..the CMF magazine didn't contain anything that i didn't know before (yep, i read it..haha). I also found out that the Iron Mongers i found online were already cheap. haha. might get two of them..more on that later..here's what i think of the new Wolverines i have..a little summary?

1. XMC Stealth- left elbow is loose, other than that..awesome.
2. Unmasked Astonishing - REAL TIGHT! unlike my masked one..
3. Street Fight Logan - REALLY LOOSE but i think it's meant to be that way since it's the feature of the figure
4. Vintage Logan - the claws work like a pen..you can retract them...nice condition
5. Vintage Battle Damaged - pull the lever at the back, hands move. nice condtion for an old fig..
6. Black Wolverine - Will keep it MOC unless someone buys the right arm (2nd MOC fig if ever, next to MS Ultimate Wolverine)
i might have spent more money than expected but i wouldn't have it any other way..i was able to get 3 new figures for just an additional P450! met nice guys too..real nice guys..i'm real excited to go hunt for new toys on staurday, CollectIcon..i want to be able to buy at least one or two figs there..and hopefully the trade for Ninja Strike Wolverine goes through and happens..oh, and i won't get a movie abomination anymore..i'll get 2 movie iron mongers instead..at least, i hope i do..i don't need to get them asap and i'm still trying to work out a trade using NBA cards for one Iron Monger so that i won't have to spend money, or at least spend less. Saw the open cockpit for sale in SM Bicutan for P699, too much for my taste..i'll only use this as a punching bag for my MU X-Force anyway. so ill try to spend as little as possible on them. I might repaint the Iron Mongers too, make them look like government issued mutant killers or something like that..ala sentinel maybe but not entirely Sentinel like..i am still open to changing it though, the one constant is that i won't spend more than P300 for the enemy figure. One last thing, i already contacted two customizers...i want to get a custom rotocast..the big 12"ones, i want to get a custom one..i guess i'm ready to shell out P2000 at the most for one, i mean..i'm not really asking for a lot..just a repaint and some modifications that aren't that hard..so hopefully, the ones i was able to contact and the one who i'll ask for a custom is real good. So that i'll be able to get the most out of my money..but if ever it goes over P2000, i won't bite. anyway, i have classes tomorrow after a week off thanks to the bad weather..body clock isn't properly set yet..wish me luck. and pray for those affected by the bad weather..

There's a new hurricane coming tomorrow called "Pepeng". Why? it's after "O" i guess..i hope it won't hit the Philippines anymore, a lot of people have yet to recover from Ondoy. I hope everyone will be fine. Anyway, even though there might be a typhoon coming. I'm planning to go to greenhills to get my Wolverine stuff any my phone reformatted. It broke down last night, i don't know why though..And The GB thing can't be postponed anymore. This reminds me of a time a few months ago when i also went out to get something i bought. I was planning on buying new shoes at that time, and the plan was for me to get Air Max Stat in the army colorway. I already had everything set up, it was supposed to be delivered for free and all i had to do was to deposit the payment. The day before, i was unable to deposit due to the fact that i had class until around 5:30 and most banks were already closed at that time. Then the next day, i went to this bank at around 4:15 only to find out that it closes around 4..wow, bummer. Anyway, i was so pissed off because i didn't know that it closed that early. I messaged the seller about it and i said that if he thinks i'm taking such a long time then i'd understand..or that if possible maybe i could just meet-up tih someone..he said that meet-ups were not allowed and he sounded susicious of me, thinking that i might be fooling him. So there, we ended up just cancelling our transaction. And then, while surfing around ebay i saw this the shoe i really wanted. Eversince i saw it on JR Smith during the last all-star game i really wanted to get it. It was the Nike Flight Club, i really wanted the grey and blue colorway but i also liked the shoe a lot. But the only color way released here were the ones for Tony Parker and Andre Iguodala. But i saw this on ebay, in my size..It was being sold for P4500 or around $90. P1000 of the retail price, it just doesn't have the box anymore since it came from abroad..i had a quick talk with the seller and there, boom...i'm getting it the next day. It was raining a bit when i got it. But let me tell you it was worth it, after getting this pair i haven't looked for another one since..because one, i have no more money and two..i'm finally satisfied with my kicks. This is awesome, i haven't used it for playing yet (i use Jordan XX3 low and Nike Flight Skool) and only used it around 2-3 times for walking and it still looks oh so new..just like the pair you're seeing right now. Anyway, wich me luck tomorrow..hopefully there won't be any typhoon tomorrow and that if it rains..it won't rain hard..and that i'll get my phone fixed..oh, and that i might get a cheap 6" monster..haha. Oh, there's this guy on ebay who's selling this Spawn playset for only P300, i would've taken it since he said that it was perfect for 3.75" lines..but when i checked on other sites..it said that it was in the 6" scale. It would be fine if it was only the Violator but come on..if i use this set then Wolverine would be as big as the fire place..he may be small but he isn't that small. I don't know if the guy selling it seriously doesn't know what he's talking about or if he just wants to make a quick buck. Anyway, for those looking for something that goes with 6", this is one great bargain. I mean, this seriously looks good. If it was made on the 3.75" scale i'd go and get it. But unfortunately, it's not..so i guess i'll just have to stay tuned and wait for one. So there..my brother wants to use the laptop so i'll just check in next time..pray for good weather guys..
